The Evolution Of Communication: How Conversation Has Changed

(this was for school, but I was so proud of it that I decided to post it here) The 21st century, much like the one before it, has been a time of rapid and unceasing change, especially in technology. All of us are in a unique position of having our entire lives affected profoundly, maybe much more so than older generations, by this change, and this cannot be seen more clearly than in the field of communication. Just think: only ten years ago, social media as we know it was basically nonexistent! So, as the first two decades approach their end, and we approach a new era, let's think about what we've seen in the field of communication so far, and what we might see in the future. The early 2000s were, essentially, the last remnants of the 90s dying a slow, painful death. He ran blindly ahead, his legs moving as fast as they possibly could. His heart beat with almost superhuman strength as he ran through the foliage, his mind consumed with fear. The dead leaves crunched violently under his flailing feet, but he could not care less; he was but a creature of pure instinct. The wind whipped past his face as he scrambled down the uneven forest floor, clumsily stumbling the whole way. Then, unbidden, a word echoed sharply through the recesses of his mind..... Escape. Wait. Escape? From what? Where was he? What was he doing? The adrenaline rush ended just as quickly as he presumed it had begun, and the man crashed to a halt. John Wick Review

(I know, I know... seeing as this movie came out in 2014 and the franchise is on its third instalment by now, one could reasonably say that this is a little late. Still, I did just see the movie on Netflix this week, so.....) John Wick is, unapologetically, a testosterone-driven action flick. It unashamedly glorifies brutal violence, guns, and fancy cars, and it's not heavy on character development or deep themes. Unlike others of its ilk, however, it is not loud . Indeed, the character of John Wick consistently uses a silencer on his gun despite never ever going for stealth in any of his action scenes, and his opponents are often dispatched in mere seconds before any angry screaming is allowed to happen. It is a ruthlessly efficient action film, befitting the persona of its main character, and this aspect ends up elevating this film head and shoulders above its brethren. Hello! Welcome to this blog (or something)! As the name might suggest, the topics for blog posts can be absolutely anything, ranging from movie reviews to extended rants about something to..... actually, at this point, I'm not entirely sure myself. Only time will tell what this blog turns into. Will it be something good? Something bad? A Lovecraftian monstrosity utterly indescribable by convention? Who knows? I sure don't!
